This site was been established on 1st October 2013



This site is dedicated to close members of my family who served in the armed forces over a 75 year period from 1873 to 1948. The site covers the Boer War (2nd) , India, South Africa, World Wars I & II in France, Belgium, also Cyprus and Palestine. Especially note those six Killed In Action (KIA). There are more in depth written accounts of WJG, WAG & RSG available.

Bomber Command Memorial

Please try to visit the Bomber Command Memorial in Green Park. I was invited to the opening of this memorial by the Queen Elizabeth II in June 2012 as my father's squadron was part of Bomber Command. Details are on their website: www.rafbf.org/1794/bomber-command-memorial.html

RAF Downham Market Memorial

RAF Downham Market Memorial The memorial completed in July 2025, is dedicated to those airmen from RAF Downham Market, who lost their lives during WW2. The memorial is sited at the eastern end of where the runaway, where most aircraft would have waited for permission to take off.
