JG Goodbody

 
Joseph George Goodbody joined the army in October 1907 at Woolwich, London and served in the 25th Brigrade Royal Fleld Auxiliary, Black Watch (Royal Highlanders). Served 5 years in India (18th Brigade) and then home for 5 months before the start of WW1. Spent the whole of WW1 in France apart from a short leave. His Regimental Conduct Sheet shows no misdemeanours during his 12 years in the army. He spent 25 days in hospital in the UK, 17 of which were for an ankle abrasion but had no injuries whilst in combat. He was awarded the following medals, 1914 Star, British War and Victory.
 
Discharged October 1919 to address given as 45 Lethbridge Road, Lewisham, London and was still residing there on 1921 census.
