CW Goodbody

Charles Walter Goodbody enlisted in 25 January 1915 at Chatham and joined the 21st Signals Corp part of The Royal Engineers with the rank of Sapper 66101. He acted as a Telegraphist during his time in the signal regiment. Records show that he had two offences on his Regimental Conduct Sheet. At Lacey Green he exceeded the limits of his pass by 8 hours and forfeited 1 days pay. The second offence at Thursley he was absent 1 day and 9 hours and forfeited two days pay and deprived of a further 7 days pay. Both offences were in the first 8 months of his service. Records show he received the following medals. Walter was living in Wandsworth London in 1911 and Gorelston Norfolk in 1921 in the censuses

Although not documented in his records, earning these medals meant he must have been in the Theatre of War for a least 28 Days.
